A steel wholesaler ships high tonnage of coil, sheet, pipe and structural to many buyers, often from several yards. The money is lost in the gap between the weight on the order and the weight that actually went onto the lorry. SteelERP records both on every line and bills the loaded weight, so the challan matches the lorry, not the booking.
An inquiry converts into an order, the order splits into lorry-wise delivery sub-orders, and each printed challan is available to Tally. GST is computed on each line against its HSN code, and TCS is reported.

Rate on Every Line
The rate is set on each inquiry and order line. Prices can be GST-inclusive or exclusive per order, and a discount on a challan can be recorded with a remark.
Lorry-Wise Dispatch
Split one order across lorries by kg, metre or piece. Each lorry gets its own loading, challan and delivery status, and order freight (fixed or per kg) is shared out across the lorries.
GST, TCS & Tally
CGST/SGST/IGST on each line from the HSN code, and TCS reporting. With Tally the link runs both ways: Tally pulls each printed challan and SteelERP pushes to your webhook.
Payment Terms & Due Dates
Each buyer carries a credit period in days, and each challan gets a due date from the order's payment terms (advance, against delivery, or 7 to 60 days). Upcoming: credit limits and outstanding balances per buyer.
A wholesale day on SteelERP
Booking. Buyer inquiries are logged with size, quantity and rate, and convert into an order once confirmed, so the rate agreed on the phone is the rate on the order.
Loading. A 40-tonne order rarely leaves on one lorry. Each lorry becomes a delivery sub-order with its own loading record. The actual loaded weight is recorded at loading, and the challan for that lorry is raised on that figure.
Dispatch. The challan PDF can go to the buyer on WhatsApp from your own WhatsApp Business account. Reports show orders that have been assigned but are not yet on a challan (and for how long), and challans raised but not printed the same day.
Buying. A purchase order can take several purchase advices as the mill ships in parts, and each advice is received into the yard that actually got the material. An optional truck-in step at the security gate records lorries before unloading.
Review. Sales by product, category and warehouse, top customers, delivery performance and the GST summary are on the dashboard and export to Excel or PDF. A weekly PDF report (KPIs, top customers and top products) is emailed to the recipient list you set.
